Hi,
Magnesium is present in chlorophyll as its central atom surrounded by large ring structure called as chlorin. The four nitrogen atom in chlorin binds the magnesium ion.
Hope this helps!!
Hello Aditya,
Chlorophyll is a green pigment present in all plants and is essential for the process if photosynthesis. Magnesium is the powerhouse behind photosynthesis in the plants. Without Magnesium chlorophyll cannot capture the sun's energy needed for photosynthesis. Chlorophyll contains Magnesium ion in a large structure known as Chlorin . Four nitrogen atoms from the chlorin surround and bind the magnesium atom.
I hope it helped.
All the best.
