Mahatma Gandhi University , Kottayam is not a college, it is a university as indicated by its name , it is a state university and it is located in the Kottayam district of Kerala.

Mahatma Gandhi University has around 100 affiliated colleges. It is also popularly known as MG University or MGU, and it is ranked among the top 50 universities in India.

It is known to offer more than 300 academic programmes (Undergraduate, Postgraqduate, Research) in diverse fields such as Engineering, Management, Medical, Arts, Commerce, Journalism and many more

It has been ranked 28 by India Today Survey and it has been ranked 30 in nirf ranking 2019 in the list of top universities in India.
