Dear candidate,
To be very honest, it may pose some problems going ahead. But if you can upskill yourself to the level where people will forget about your past problems, it will not make much a difference to you ahead. Although there shouldn't be any problem for you, but if the interviewer asks you about the same, you should convince him of why you had a gap year in between your academic years. If you can bring the qualities within you which are difficult to find. If you can be of value to your company & make a difference, your past will not make much of a difference. But you need to be clear with whatever you study.
