Hello Aspirant,
My vote goes to BVSc.
Most dental colleges are failing to fill their quota of seats. So much so, when recently some older colleges were asking for increase in seats, they were asked to find out what their alumni of last five years were doing.
Most were not practicing dentistry and we're doing things totally unrelated to their field. This speaks volumes about BDS.
DCI estimates that there will be 1.5 lakh surplus dentists in India by 2020. We will be the most populous nation by then. Where will we send those unemployed dentists?
Even mofussil towns have one or two dentists now. If one has a dental problem one can always travel unlike a medical problem. You can always travel to nearedt town or city for dental care.
On the flip side, there aren't enough veternerians in India. The number of domestic animals is exploding. We are eating more meat than ever in our history, where do you think it will come from? Large farms of poultry, cattle, goats, sheep's will require visiting veternerians and vets on retainer.
Not to mention the rich and vain people who will spend lavishly on their pets. As people lead lonely lives, pets will increase.
It's a very good time to be a veterinarian in India. Infact there has never been a better time for vets. Take that BVSc seat.
This may help.
Happy learning!
