Dear student,
There is not a fixed pattern of marking of sections of questions in JEE Advanced. It varies year to year as you should note that there is not a single group of people who makes paper. Every year a different IIT takes responsibility for conduction of JEE Advanced.
Now if talk in a broad way then there are three sections made in JEE Advanced exam.
First section contains 6 questions and each of three marks and if you do wrong then minus one. This section has single option correct answer.
Second section also contains 6 questions and it is multiple option correct answer type. In this you get partial marks too. Let me explain its rule.
- +4 if only all correct options are chosen.
- +3 if al for options are correct but you chose only 3 options
- +2 if 3 or more options are correct but 2 correct options are selected.
- +1 if 2 or more options are correct but 1 correct options are selected.
Now section three have 6 questions and they are numerical value based. They give 4 marks if done correctly and they do not have negative marking.
