Dear Khan, now its too late to change the category. With the results being released and the counselling dates scheduled, you cannot change the Category. And we are afraid if you donot produce a valid category certificate, your admission might stand cancelled.

Hii Priyanka.1)Will there be any option to change the category from OBC to GENERAL during registration for counselling??I have wrongly mentioned my Category as OBC.I have a BC category reservation in my state but i recently came to know that my reservation does not come under central list of OBC. I would like to participate for Deemed universities under GN category seats.2)If I  fail to produce OBC during admission will my admission be cancelled??Please guide

Hii PriyankaThanks for ur response.A candidate with OBC category cannot participate for GN/unreserved category seats??If a candidate gets admission in GN category of seat then still his community certificate is considered for admission??

You will be only considered for the category ypu have chosen initially. And for General Category, you dont need any certificate proofs.

Jayshri Singvi To be honest, you stand at the risk of having your admission cancelled, should you get a seat. Now the merit list is prepared based on the Category you choose during the time of filling your application form. Please fill your Category as General Category.

Hey, I want to put OBC in my registration but my family comes under Creamy layer due to income. I have the OBC certificate though. Also, I put my name under general category before the exam as I didn’t have the certificate during that time.
1. Can we change the category afterwards to general as I’m not sure I’ll get reserved seat?
(This may sound selfish but I have no choice, I’ve already missed one year due to drop and people down behave nicely with us people)

Mansi Tandel Unfortunately you cannot change the Category now Mansi. The State merit lists are being released and now it is too late. You will be considered under General Category.

Shanu Now you cannot opt for General Category if you fail to submit your documents for claiming reservation. Rules have been clear about it.
