Things are not just about package and CTC. It's about your interest too. As a matter of fact both MBA and M.tech will open a wide array of opportunities for you. Both might give you foreign exposure. But the two are absolutely different. M.tech, on one hand, is pertaining to more of an academia which will sharpen your problem-solving skills, MBA on the other hand will improvise your managerial skills and add broader perspectives of dealing with the world and corporate life. Talking about which will give better package, it again depends. Never go with the glamour of the placement reports of any institute. It's always your caliber that decides whether you shall land up to getting the highest package from a B- school or the lowest. And above all the processes are quite random as well. Moreover, go as per ROI(Return on Investment) rather than merely the package. For instance, two year investment (inclusive of fees and your expenses) in a top B- school will be around 23lacs on an average, whereas only the top 40% students bag a package above 20 lacs on an average, then the next 40% of the batch gets a package between 10-20lacs per annum and the rest have to go with 5-10 lacs per annum. So, again it's you and your day that would decide. Yes, definitely there are exclusive packages bagged by students in top organisations worth 40lacs and above as well but these are not the majority of the batch. Ultimately, on an average for an average student, the amount in hand per month shall range between 80k to 1lac, initially.
On the other hand, M. Tech will pay you no lesser. M. Tech from a good college with good efforts in put in from your part, you shall have in hand 50k to 70 k per month that will keep rising.
What I perceive is, look at what interests you and suits you the best. MBA on one hand, will cover fields like banking, finance, management, consultancy, marketing and operations, whereas M.tech, on the other hand will cover fields like research, engineering, technology, development and more of academics-orientation.
All the best.!
