Hii,

Both the degrees are good and what to choose it totally depends upon you

Master of Computer Applications ( MCA ) is a three-year (six semesters) professional Master's Degree in computer science awarded in India.

The course was designed to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals in the field of Information Technology.

B. Tech in Computer Science Engineering ( CSE ) is an academic programme of the duration of four years which integrates the field of Computer Science and Computer Engineering.

The programme primarily lays emphasis on the basics of computer programming and networking.

Computer Science and Engineering , a degree program that combines aspects of both computer science and computer engineering program .

Control Systems Engineering , a field of engineering concerning how to design systems that reacts to input in desirable ways.

IT stands for Information Technology in context of computers. Information Technology uses computers and software to manage information .

Information Technology deals with electronic computers and computer software to store, process, convert, protect, transmit and retrieve information securely.

The major difference is that..

B. Tech CSE is a 4 year undergraduate course whereas MCA is a three-year post-graduate degree. MCA emphasizes on computer application development where as B . Tech is engineering based course with specialization in IT.

MCA students are primarily hired development or software engineering roles.

Both the courses are best in their respective domains.

However B.Tech CSE is more demanding and related to software engineering

So, if you are having both the option with you then go according to your choise.

But more preferable is B.Tech CSE Computer Science Engineering according to today's demand .

Hello Aspirant,

B tech is 4 year Bachelor degree which is done after 12th grade whereas MCA is 3 year masters degree for peoples from ARts and Science background.

As per the syllabus of B tech in IT and MCA concerned they both have same syllabus and papers related to computer whereas B tech has advantage of engineering basics and soft skills in First year.

To put it short if you are studying school plan for your B tech IT/CS to enter into IT industry whereas if u have done Bsc/Bcom and still want to enter into IT industry then plan for your MCA.

ps: salary wise both are same but while growing inside organisation former has slight advantage over later. The downside of doing btech over mca is the cost of investing is higher for tution fees.
