Hey Aspirant,

Pharmacovigilance is completely research based work which requires the study of adverse drug effects via Absorption, Digestion, Metabolism and Excretion (ADME) . This is a great careers option for Life Sciences and Pharmacy Graduates.

Medical Billing/Coding on the other hand is a completely technical job which requires translating medical documents into codes by using coding manuals like ICD - 10 CM, CPT and HCPS , followed by generating statements via claiming/denying payments.

Both of these careers are in increasing demand in India. However, pharmacovigilance would offer you a higher pay+ more reputed post (As it comes under clinical research).

So, Pharmacovigilance would be a better career option.

Hope this helps.

Goodluck!
