Hello!
In order to become a pharmacologist, you need to pass 10+2 with Biology and Chemistry as compulsory subjects, then a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacology. Then you can pursue master's degree in pharmacology in order to choose a specialisation of your choice. Then you may pursue Pharm. D. or Ph.D in pharmacology or both. If you wish to practise clinical pharmocology, you need M.D or Ph.D and if you want a career in applied pharmacology, you must have Ph.D or Pharm.D.
Moreover, you must be an expert in designing, retrieving, managing and deciphering complex data. You must possess knowledge of health and safety procedures. You need to have interest in life sciences and medicine and in laboratory work. Other skills include attention to detail, analytical, communication, good organisational, IT skills, leadership, oral and written skills. You must have strong logical thinking skills and strong academic foundation, teamwork and time management skills.
Top job profiles in pharmacology are Academic researcher, Analytical chemist, Biomedical scientist, Community pharmacist, Clinical research associates, Clinical trial monitors, Clinical study coordinators, Consultants, Drug safety monitors Drug therapist, Drug Regulatory Officer and many more.
