Hello,
The complete series would be 2,6,12,20,30,42,56 and so on.
The equation being used here is n x (n+1) where n is the position of digits.
To elaborate it further the digit at 4th position in series can be found by using the formula n x (n+1) you will get 4 x (4+1) = 20
similarly the digit after 20 that is at 5th position will be 5 x (5+1) = 30.
So the series is 2,6,12,20,30,42,56.
Hope this was helpful
In the above question, 2,6,12,20,... if we observe the trend then, the trend is as follows:
So, the next numbers will be,
i.e., The series will be 2, 6, 12, 20, 30, 42, 56, 72,...
Best Wishes.
Hey!
Given Aptitude question forms a series in which difference between the two consecutive values is multiple of 2, or next consecutive term comes with the addition of a multiple of 2,that is,
2+ 4 =6
6+ 6 =12
12+ 8 =20
20+ 10 =30
30+ 12 =42
And so on...
So the next value is 30,42
