Hello dear..
The problem with lateral entry is that the students don't get to learn the basics that are covered in First year of MCA. It therefore affects your interviews too. Also, there is comparatively more pressure of studies in lateral entry. You need to study the First Year as well as Second Year syllabus to get ready for the Interviews in the Third Year. Go for lateral only if you can handle it.
Best of luck..
The all time known i.e R S AGGARWALS , R D SHARMAS . I would also throw light on B L SHARMA(Arhiant Publications) for maths and B J SIJWANI for Aptitude. I followed only these two books and cleared each and every exam during my time…
It dosen’t have a uniform pattern as in case of JEE, PMT, CAT etc i.e it’s more of university specific i.e different universities follow different patterns .Hence my advice would be to first thoroughly go through all the previous year question papers of the universities you are eyeing for i.e JNU, Pune or even DU.
Most of the questions in MCA entrance exams are repeated form previous years and you don’t get to face specially pruned questions in MCA entrance as in case of JEE etc.
