MH CET and CLAT syllabus is almost the same but there is a difference in the level of questions, the sections in both exam is sam like Maths, Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning, Logical and analytical  Reasoning, Gk and current Affairs, English. But now the consortium of NLU has changed the pattern of CLAT exams, now instead of 200 questions there will be around 120-150 questions and the questions will be comprehension based in English, Maths, Deductive reasoning etc. So to answer your question, yes the topics in both the exams is somewhat similar but for CLAT you will need to prepare more and be through with your preparation. You can prepare simultaneously for both and that being said if you prepare for CLAT throughly then you will need no extra preparation as such for MHCET.
