Now a days, most of the laptops do not have a dvd drive. The reson for this is now people hardly use dvd's especially in colleges. In B.Tech colleges people mostly use pendrive, hard drives. So a laptop not having a dvd drive should not be an issue for not buying it. And if at all you need a dvd drive, external dvd drivers are easily available in the market.

  Yes, offcourse it is a useful laptop. It is not at all required to have a dvd drive in the present era when everything is available on the web. During B.tech there is not any sensible use of DVD drive so you can go with it. kind of work that you have to do is possible through this laptop. You can go with this laptop....  I hope I answered your question...
