You need to score a minimum of 10 marks in each of the papers , that is, you should score at least 10 marks in Paper 1 (Physics and Chemistry) and 10 marks in paper 2 (Maths), to be qualified for the rank list. About 46,000 students had qualified for KEAM last year and all of them got into Engineering colleges. It does not matter what your marks are, because some private colleges are not very choosy. As number of students are less, you can easily get a merit seat if you want. Please don't think that you need to get only management seats, as there are a lot of colleges who struggle even to fill their merit based seats.
If you want admission to only management seats in private colleges in Kerala, go to KSFECMA website. This is a group of all self-financing colleges in Kerala, which conducts an exam called KEE to fill up the management seats. This exam is conducted before we get KEAM results. So, if you are not sure of your chances of scoring even 20 marks in total (out of 960) in KEAM, do give this exam a try.
