Minimum rank to take admission in NIT
Well it depends if you are in general category then your rank should be some around 50k . And you will get nit like meghalay etc

Nit seats depends totally on caste basis. If you are in general category then 50,000 is minimum or if you are in st then 90000 is minimum..

Your rank should be less than 30k for take admission in NITs.

Ranks for admission in NIT varies from college to college
It is based on category cutoff and the number of students attended the exam ,they will be listing /selecting based on this criteria
For O BC *50 marks and sc is 35 and ST is 35 .
I will brief you the top NIT'S cutoff for the admission based on previous years selection
1.NIT TIRUCHIRAPALLI, opening rank is 2743 and closing rank is 25229
2.NIT SURATHKAL,opening rank is 266 and closing rank is 32588
3.NIT ROURKELA, opening rank is 360 and closing rank is 71467
based on the above colleges ,and including category a maximum of rank below 20,000 so that a chance in getting admission in NIT'S but it varies from category
Category cutoff plays a major role ,though you get 90 marks ,if you are an oc sometimes you maynot get in top NIT college depending up on number of students attempted the exam

You need to have a rank under 30000 atleast in jee mains in order to get a chance for admission in NITs in last round of counselling.You should try to score more than 130 marks in jee mains.
