Yes mobile phones are allowed but only during free period not during the classes. Graduates sweat it out at the IMA for 18 months before joining the army as lieutenants. Cadets passing out from the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, also train at the IMA for a year. Candidates will also get Internet access in their rooms.  The Indian Military Academy (IMA) is an officer-training academy was established in 1932 following a recommendation by a military committee.
