Hi! By MPhil, I am assuming you mean Masters of Philosophy.Master of Philosophy is a postgraduate academic research programme that is of two years duration. Candidates from any stream – Humanities, Commerce, Science, Law, Teaching etc. can pursue an MPhil course.
The MPhil is a research degree in its own right and one which will give you a similar skill set to a PhD. It lays a strong foundation if you want to pursue a career in research or follow it up with a PHD in any particular stream. On its own, its not as well known as a Phd, but it would certainly lay a strong foundation for you if you wanna pursue a PHd later, as students learn the fundamentals of research work and may actually investigate the research of others.
Ultimately, it's upto you, the type of career you want to make or want to go in. Hope this helped!
