Hi Kritika
Both the streams are good in their own way.
Environmental Engineering is a combination of engineering principles and science to improve natural environment to provide healthy Air, Water and land for human habitation or for other organisms and to remediate polluted sites.
Whereas, water resource engineering emphasizes the development and management of water, land and related resources to maximise the resultant economic and social welfare in an equitable manner without compromising the sustainability of vital ecosystems.
Duration of both the courses is 2 years and you can have many job options in both the streams after its succesful completion.
Environmental Engineering is beneficial to equip yourself with tools and techniques of sustainable practices including renewable energies, policy and Green Building. Also environmental scientists are employed in textile mills, refineries, food processing, mines etc to monitor the level of pollution.
Even NGOs are employing many environmentalists.
Wherras, water resource engineering is beneficial for higher degree programs such as PhD and M.phil for research studies. They can do job regarding strategic environmental information officer and also they can become waste water catchment manager.
So based on above discussion, both are good in their own way
But as per my opinion, environmental engineering is preferred over water resource engineering. Also some good colleges offer environmental engineering .
However I would suggest to choose wisely. Your decision should be based on your area of interest and how you want to see yourself in future.
All the Best!!
