Hey!
At Thapar Institute, 30% of the total BE/BTech seats is filled on the basis of merit in 10+2 or equivalent examination in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics , Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject.
The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 75% marks (70% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects.
You do have chances for admission via mode 2. But there are students with 95 percent or above who wish to take admission. Also, preference is given to students in Punjab. So, you should still apply for it. You might get admission.
Hope it helps!
