According to last year's statistics, yes you can get admission in a nit or iiit. However, if you want CSE, IT, ECE or any such branches, you might not get top NITs but you can easily get yourself in the new ones.

As per the previous cutoff your chances of getting into Nits or Iiits is less.It also depends on the branch you choose.You can Check the colleges matching your rank in the college predictor of careers360 website.You can get a rough idea through that.There are many good private colleges which take admission on the basis of jee mains marks.Also through home state quota you can into some government colleges also.

Since your marks is average in 12th and your rank is not under 10,000, you are not suppose to get a good iit/nit college with your preferable branch. But if you will apply for other good universities for B. Tech there is a chance that you can get a good college with a good branch . There are many private colleges as well where you can apply.
