My aim is upsc . Which subject should i choose as my hons. Paper that will help me in the exam in arts .

Hello Manisha,

It’s really good that you are planning from IAS before graduation only your graduation subjects really helps you if you are taking the same subjects as optional subjects in IAS.

Philosophy:- Philosophy is only a very scoring subject which comes in arts because its syllabus is very limited but your concept should be clear regarding ideologies as questions which comes in the exam does not come directly.

History: - as a subject in arts it’s not a very scoring subject in graduation (depends on the university) but yes its definitely scoring in IAS as most of the syllabus  of GS you will already cover during these three years that is more than sufficient.

Political Science or Public Administration: - Both subjects will help you out to cover you GS and you will be able to cover some part of your mains also with theses two subject.but you can take only one subject out of these two for IAS.
