Hello

With an AIR 4172 , ST rank 838 and ST women rank 456 , you have a chance at mid-tier and lower-tier NLUs like HNLU Raipur , DSNLU Visakhapatnam and TNNLU Tiruchirappalli specially if home state quota or vacancy rounds favor you . Top NLUs may not be feasible. Focus on counseling and monitor cutoffs closely.

1. Check Cutoffs : Analyze the cutoffs for NLUs from the previous year for the ST category to set realistic expectations.

2. Apply Wisely : Include a mix of mid-tier and lower-tier NLUs in your preference list during counselling.

3. Stay Updated : Keep checking the CLAT counselling portal for updates on vacancy rounds or special counselling sessions.

Hello,

Based on your All India Rank (AIR) of 42,172 and Scheduled Tribe (ST) category rank of 838, securing admission to a National Law University (NLU) may be challenging. Consider the following points:

  • Previous Year Cut-offs : Top NLUs like NLSIU Bangalore and NALSAR Hyderabad had ST category closing ranks around 7,487 and 6,083, respectively.

  • Lower-tier NLUs : Institutions such as NUSRL Ranchi and NLUJA Assam had higher ST category closing ranks, approximately 19,635 and 19,643, respectively.

  • Current Rank Comparison : Your ST rank of 838 exceeds these previous closing ranks, indicating that admission to NLUs may not be feasible based on past trends.

  • Alternative Options : Explore other reputable law schools or private institutions that accept CLAT scores and may have different cut-off criteria.

  • State Quotas and Reservations : Investigate if any NLUs offer domicile reservations or have specific quotas that could enhance your admission prospects.

  • Future Attempts : Consider retaking the CLAT exam after thorough preparation to improve your rank and increase the likelihood of securing a seat in an NLU.

In summary, with an AIR of 42,172 and an ST rank of 838, admission to NLUs appears unlikely based on previous years' cut-offs . Exploring alternative law colleges and considering a retake of the CLAT exam could be beneficial steps forward.

You can also use the CLAT college predictor tool to predict which colleges you can get based on your score or rank.

Hope it helps !

With an All India Rank (AIR) of 42,172, a State Rank (ST) of 838, ST Women Rank of 456, and AIR Women Rank of 25,184 in CLAT, your chances of securing a seat in National Law Universities (NLUs) depend on several factors, such as your category (ST), domicile, and the specific NLU's cutoff trends. NLUs reserve a significant number of seats for students from reserved categories, and your ST and ST Women ranks give you an advantage in NLUs with lower cutoffs or those that prioritize regional candidates.

Focus on newer NLUs or those with higher intake for reserved categories, such as NLU Odisha, NLU Assam, or NLU Jabalpur. If you have domicile eligibility, explore the state-based reservation policies to increase your chances. Additionally, keep an eye on counseling rounds, as many seats open up in subsequent lists. With strategic preferences, you may secure admission to an NLU.

Based on your CLAT 2024 ST rank (838), you have a probability of getting into the following NLUs:
Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) Raipur
National Law University, Jodhpur
Do keep a track of the seats that are vacant and for that visit websites regularly, so that you do not miss out on updates. Also prepare for back-up so that you loose out good opportunities in other colleges as well.
