There is no such thing like Home state rank in JEE Main or other Entrance Examination.
Rank is divided into two type:
- Common rank list which is All India Rank
- Another is Category Rank, this is the rank which you hold in your category.
Whereas admission is done on the basis of various type of quota such as:
- Either you belong to Home state quota
- Or you belong to Other State/All India quota
For getting admissions as Other state quota your rank should be higher.
