My brother failed in Tamilnadu 12 th exam 2018 batch in account subject due to some illness now he is reappearing but people are saying that he needs to write all the six paper to clear the 12 th board. Is this true? or else he can pass just by writing failed subject for upcoming exam after 2020.

Hello candidate,
CBSE provides five opportunities to each and every candidate who has in at least one subject in the board examination, to reappear for that same subject and pass in the compartmental examination.
If the candidate fails in all the five attempts of the compartmental examination, then he has to give all the papers again even if he had failed in only one subject.
