Your brother's 12 marks doesn't decide that if he is eligible for nit or not..it depends on the performance in jee mains exam..if he prepares in this 1 year well..and if his performance is good then...he will surely get nit..

Since there is an eligibility of 75% in board 10+2 is necessary,i would suggest your brother to write improvement exam and get 75% or more and now he will be eligible for NITs.
