Here are few options
If he is interested in defence service he can appear for NDA.
If he is interested in arts he can do BA
There are lot of opportunities other than Engineering like Hotel Management,Law , Commerce, Pilot , Computer Science .

Hello,
Well it totally depends on his interest.
He can go for other top engineering colleges except IITs like NITs,IIITs,VIT,MIT,SRM,BITS PILANI,etc.All of these are top colleges of India.
If he is interested in research then he can go for Bsc course with interested subject.He can do BCA if he wants to gain knowledge in CS field.
