My caste is in the state OBC list but not there in the central OBC list. When filling up the form, I assumed the caste is based on the state list. I have entered it as OBC-NCL for GATE 2022. Would they consider my application to be of the general category, while getting admissions for IITs?

Hello aspirant,

I hope that you are doing absolutely great.

With reference to your above mentioned query, i would like to tell you that your OBC-NCL Caste list will not be valid. As to get admission in several NIT's or IIT's through GATE Exam, your caste list must be validated by the central government and not by the state government. So, I think they won't be considering your application.

I hope that this helps.
