The Yadavs come under Other Backward Classes (OBCs) category in many states like Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

But, please note that all Yadavs dont belong to OBC category. There’s concept of Creamy Layer in OBC category based on financial status or income of individual/family. If a OBC candidate’s family has more than 8 Lakh annual income, then he/she gets considered as General Category and are not eligible for taking any reservation benefits.
