my cgpa was 6.69 till now and only one sem remaining, how much cgpa I get in the last sem to acheive 7 cgpa
Hey there!
Well the CGPA is calculated on the basis of SGPA of all semester.
Let us assume if you are doing Engineering, then you have 8 semester for your 4 year degree program.
let us consider SGPA of 1st semester as SGPA1, for 2nd semester SGPA2 and so on up to 8th semester SGPA8, then your CGPA will be
CGPA= ( SGPA1+ SGPA2 + SGPA3 + SGPA4 + SGPA5 + SGPA6 + SGPA7 + SGPA8 ) / 8
Hence if you having 6.69 CGPA right now and want to score at least 7 CGPA, then you should have to achieve SGPA for last semester more than or equal to 7.31
I hope you get answer to your question!
See, it all depends on the number of credits per semester you are taking, because the final CGPA is a weighted average of the CGPA of each semester and the credits taken per semester.
Let's assume that you have take equal number of credits each semester, so the calculation will be:
7 = ((6.69*7)+x)/8
x = 9.17
So, to get a CGPA of 7, you'll have to secure an SGPA of 9.17 in your final semester.
Hope I have answered your question. All the best!
