Hello Adarsh!

For 2019, upper age limit had been revised. Since you haven't mentioned your category and/or reservation status, I would answer for both.

In NEET 2019, by the order of Hon’ble Supreme Court  in SLP (C) No(s). 14320/2018, the candidates who were 25 years of age were entitled to appear for exams provisionally which means that the order might change during the course of the following year. Accordingly, the revised age limit was as follows:

  • For a candidate belonging to Unreserved category (UR), previously the condition was for him to be born on or between 05.05.1994 and 31.12.2002. This was later revised to - Born on or before 31.12.2002 thus ending any upper age limit whatsover for a general category applicant.
  • For a candidate belonging from SC/ST/OBC/PwD Category, previously the condition was for him/her to be born on or between 05.05.1989 and 31.12.2002. This was also changed to - Born on or before 31.12.2002 also, removing any upper age criterion.

This was mentioned in the public notice on NTA's official website for NEET 2019 (www.ntaneet.nic.in) in the Public Notice issued on 29.11.2018 which headlined as " Removal of Upper Age Limit and Extension of Date for filling Online Application Form ". However, since they have been given permission to sit for NEET 2019 provisionally and the final outcome of this may come out in the subsequent year, I would advise you to check regularly for this matter. I hope this answers your query.

All the best for your future.

Feel free to ask any more queries.

Yes. Even though your age falls in the required time frame, due to the ongoing legal case, the next age limit might be different. Therefore I ask you to make a well awared choice. You have a chance this year as you would only be 24+ and I wish this is what the new ruling says.
All the best for your future!

Dear Adarsh, for now, you need to be 17 years atleast by December 31st of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit for NEET. Assuming that the rules remain the same, you need to be 17 years old atleast by December 31st of 2020 if you want to appear for NEET in 2020. You will be around 25 years and you are eligible for NEET. Supreme Court had put a stay on upper age limit for NEET.
