Hi
No, if your EWS certificate is not valid now, then you should not upload.
But don't worry even if you don't have a valid ews certificate right now , you need it during counselling, right now while filling jee main application form, you can download the self declaration/ undertaking and fill it and submit it in place of your ews certificate. The self declaration/ undertaking form for category you belong to is available on the page number 9 of pdf for which link is given below :-
https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/webinfo2021/File/GetFile?FileId=5&LangId=P

Hello Aspirant,
See if you are applying for JEE-Main 2021 May session right now then that EWS certificate will not be valid because it is is already expired and if you had already applied for May session during the application process of February or March session then it will be considered but n this case you have to produce a renewed certificate at the time of admission. But if you are applying right now then you can upload the undertaking on the place of reservation category certificate in JEE-Main 2021 Application form and just apply for renewal of your EWS certificate because you will have to produce the renewed and valid category certificate at the time of admission.
Undertaking is the document which declares that you will submit the original and valid caste certificate later on at the time of admission.
You can download the undertaking from the official portal of NTA, for which link is also given below :-
https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/webinfo2021/File/GetFile?FileId=5&LangId=P
When you visit on the above link you will find a PDF and on page no.9 there is undertaking format which you have to download and after filling it you have to upload it on the place of category certificate in the JEE-Main 2021 Application form.
I hope this information helps you.
Good Luck!!
