The EWS certificate is a certificate issued by the government (state/central) for the economically weaker sections of the region. It is valid for a time period of ONE year from the date when it is issued. Since you stated you had your certificate made this year itself, you need not worry as the counselling procedure will soon start. If you have any doubt, double check the certificate as the date is always printed.
