Dear student,. It doesn't matters when your father was promoted, all that matters is that what is your current family's annual income. If your family's income is less than 8 lakhs per annum then you fall in the category of obc ncl otherwise you will be treated as a general candidate. And to my knowledge if your father is a group A officer then he would have an annual income of more than 8 lakhs per annum, then you would be treated as general.
