    Yout friend is getting 178 marks. According to previous year rank vs marks analysis corresponding to this mark he will be getting 99.5 percentile approximately. With this percentile the common Rank list (CRL) would be around 5,000. Yes owing to this rank your friend will get Computer science engineering (CSE) in NITs and IIITs.
