Though the cutoff changes every year depending on the difficulty of exam, no. of students appeared, no. of students qualified, etc. but according to the previous cutoff trend your chances to get Thermal or Design courses in IIT Madras is quite low . The previous year cutoff for general category in Thermal or Design fields are listed below:

• Thermal Engineering- 822 (2018); 777 (2017)
• Design Engineering- 871 (2018); 835 (2017)
