My husband works in the US. Can I apply for an NRI quota? Is the fee structure for NRI quota same in deemed and non-deemed colleges? Is there still time to apply for category conversion to NRI for this year's counselling ?
An easier way is to have an NRI relative who is willing to sponsor your education (this is a legal and authentic provision made by the MCI). As you said, your husband already works in the USA. So you can have him as your sponsor and then apply under the NRI quota for the MBBS/ BDS seats. In addition to the necessary documents, these documents are very important:
1.Proof of sponsorship (certificate issued by the Indian embassy or Ministry of external affairs). In the absence of this certificate, a duly notarized undertaking (notarized by the Notary Public of the foreign country) executed by the sponsor is to be submitted. The certificate can also be used to prove the residence for the sponsor and must be issued on or after the date of NEET 2019 examination.
2. In the case of sponsorship, an affidavit from the sponsor stating that he/she looks after such student and will sponsor the entire course fee must also be submitted.
3. Address of parents and local (Indian) guardian. Any of the documents listed below can be submitted by ward of the NRI (including PIO/OCI) in this regard:
a. Electricity or Water bill
b. Documents of immovable property
c. Indian Passport or Ration Card or Voter ID or Aadhaar Card
