For admission in University of Delhi, percentage of best four subjects is required. And english is considered a compulsory subject/language that one needs to pass in his intermediate exams.

English is not considered compulsory while calculating the percentage of best four subjects, but if your percentage is boosted by English, then what is the problem. Your best four percentage including English might land you in a good college, most probably in the North Campus.
