Yes you may get some low ranking nits ( only possible with home state quota ).

Like nit srinagar ; nit Uttarakhand ; nit Goa ; nit Puducherry etc. With non core branch.

But if you go in any of the random nit than you have to compromise many things like ( branch ; place and many more things ) .

So if would suggest you to go with some good state college or with good private college ( which are better than those low ranking nits.)

Yes you can get nit but the case is that you need to do compromise with the college as well as branch as only the not so reputed colleges are left with lower ranks and in case you get the decent one then the branch is not of your choice . Go for it in case you want to do it from nits named colleges and try to change the branch after the first year itself.
