Hi
With 84.05 percentile ,
-
your rank will be around 163168 - 183425 and your obc rank will be around 50,000-60,000 as per our rank predictor at
And with above predicted rank , you have very low chances in NITs on the basis of past year closing ranks/cutoff trends .
For Example ,
in NIT Andhrapradesh , under your home state the closing cutoff rank in 6th round of josaa counselling for obc category for a low branch like Metallurgical and Materials Engineering was 14668 obc rank . You don't have chances in other nits either under other state quota being from Andhrapradesh
You can check the same at
https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx
With your predicted rank, you may have good chances in your state counselling and you have chances for private Engineering College like
-
School of Engineering, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun
-
Nirma University, Ahmedabad
-
Lovely Professional University, Phagwara
-
Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore

Thankyou
For a percentile of 84 in jee mains your general category rank should be around 1.5 lakh and 1.75 lakh. You will get admission in NIT on the basis of your category rank i.e. obc rank. It is not easy to predict your obc rank because it depends on the no. obc students that participated this year. For a percentile of 84 your obc rank should be around 45k to 50k. With this obc rank your chances of getting top NITs, like NIT Trichy, Warangal, Rourkela, Surathkal, allahabad is not possible, You can get least preferred branch like biotech in mid, tier NITs like NIT Durgapur, Surat etc. if you have home state quota. If you want better branch then you can get that in lower NITs but only if you have state quota. State quota performs and important in your admission in NITs.
I hope this answer will help.
All the best for the future!!
