Hello aspirant,
Given your situation, here’s how you can approach the counseling processes:
1. COMEDK Counseling
- Chances : With a COMEDK rank of 37099, you may have a chance to secure seats in some of the decent engineering colleges in Karnataka, though top branches like CSE might be tough to get in the most sought-after colleges.
-
Process
:
- Register for COMEDK counseling.
- Participate in the choice filling and locking process.
- Keep a mix of colleges and branches in your preference list, focusing on those where your rank has a higher chance of securing admission.
- Why Apply? : Since your COMEDK rank is relatively better compared to your JEE Main rank, applying here could be beneficial.
2. CSAB Counseling (for JEE Main Rank)
- Chances : With a JEE Main rank of 176225, getting into top NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs might be challenging, especially for CSE. However, you might still secure a seat in lower-tier GFTIs or less preferred branches.
-
Process
:
- Register for CSAB Special Rounds after the JoSAA rounds are completed.
- Fill in choices wisely, focusing on lower-tier institutes or branches that are less competitive.
- Why Apply? : It's worth applying since the CSAB rounds can sometimes result in seats opening up due to dropouts or changes in preferences.
3. AKTU Counseling (for Uttar Pradesh Technical University)
- Chances : Based on your JEE Main rank, you might have a chance to secure a seat in colleges under AKTU, though it might not be in the top branches or colleges.
-
Process
:
- Participate in the UPSEE/AKTU counseling, where you can use your JEE Main rank for seat allocation.
- Why Apply? : If you are a resident of Uttar Pradesh or prefer colleges in the state, AKTU counseling could be a good backup option.
Should You Participate in More Than One Counseling?
- Recommendation : Yes, participating in multiple counseling processes increases your chances of getting a seat in a college and branch that aligns with your preferences. You can always choose the best option available after the counseling results.
-
Strategy
:
- COMEDK : Prioritize this if you are interested in colleges in Karnataka.
- CSAB : Use this as a backup for any possible seats in NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs.
- AKTU : Keep this as an additional backup, especially if you prefer staying in Uttar Pradesh.
How to Proceed:
- Register for all the counseling processes you are eligible for.
- Fill Choices based on your preference, starting with the best possible option and then listing down to your backup choices.
- Monitor the Rounds : Keep track of the seat allocation rounds, and be prepared to make decisions quickly.
- Be Ready with Documents : Ensure all your documents are ready for verification during the counseling process.
By participating in multiple counseling processes, you maximize your chances of securing a seat in a decent college without taking a drop.
Hope it helps !
