Now coming up with the ex-serviceman quota, the very first thing is that no one else should have used that quota earlier. Now this quota also have different priority like for someone from family of martyr will get the highest preference for the seat, next come if the dependent belongs to one holding any gallentry award like Ashoka chakra and then the preference is given in the basic of the rank in army. If your father was having high rank in army it might help you in grabbing that reserved seat for ex-serviceman but again it will all depend on application of other as well. If someone with high preference comes then its hard for you to get the seat
