Hello aspirant, you have really good marks no doubt. Getting a placement or dropping for CAT are two completely different directions with different pros and cons respectively. You should give your aptitude tests and get a job too if you want. Working requires a lot of time and getting back on studies can be a little difficult but you will get through it. You can surely take your time fo r atleast 2 years to work or to just focus on your post graduation. All the very best to you.

Dear Aspirant,

First of all I would like to congratulate you for your impressive academic records.

I would suggest you to get into a good job for making your profile strong with a prior work experience.

I would also suggest you to take a drop for getting 99 percentile to get a MBA seat in a top IIM.

Best of luck.

If you work hard then you can definitely achieve your goal.

Thanks a lot..but my main concern is that what if even after scoring 99+percentile i dont  get selected in the interview because honestly apart from the above qualifications i don't hold any other qualifications as i got a bit sloppy in college, lost all focus on studies. Moreover I'm from G.B. Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology Pauri 2nd best state gov college of UK still no one knows about it. That's why I'm planning to first get some work experience.

Hello Prince

If you are a good job profile then you can have a work Experience if not then please focus on CAT as

Work experience is one of the criteria to which some weigtage is given but it is not mandatory for candidates to have work experience.

At top B Schools in India weigtage is given to the following during the selection process :

1) your performance in class X, class XII and graduate degree

2) score in the entrance test (CAT/XAT etc ) 3) your performance in the personal interview

4) your performance in the group discussion / written assessment

5) your work experience.
