Academic Qualification -
Candidate should have successfully passed the qualifying examination(10+2 or equivalent)
Candidate should have passed the qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of the following as the additional subject Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics/Computer. Should have also studied English.
Candidates waiting for their results of the qualifying exam in 2019 are also eligible to apply.
Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) candidates are not eligible to apply
Marks required :
The candidates should have secured atleast 45% aggregate marks in the three subjects in 12th standard examination. For B.Arch candidate need to have 50% marks in aggregate along with 50% marks in Physics and Chemistry.
However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC need to score atleast 40% aggregate marks for B.Tech and 45% for B.Arch.
Domicile-
To fulfil the eligibility criteria of KCET 2019, the candidate should have studied and passed from a recognised institution situated in Karnataka. The academic study from a state institute should be for a minimum period of 7 years, starting from 1st standard to 2nd PUC/12th standard as on July 1 of the exam year.
Candidates should have appeared/passed either SSLC/10th standard or 2nd PUC/12th standard exam from Karnataka.
Candidate who had taken more than one year to pass a class/standard, in such cases, the academic study years will be counted as one year only.
KCET Eligibility Criteria 2019 - Ward of Defence Personnel
Candidates who are wards of defence personnel employed in Karnataka for a minimum period of 1 year during the two year period of study of the candidates in 10+2 must have cleared the qualifying exam from a recognised educational institution located in Karnataka.
Any candidates who is a daughter or son of serving defence personnel from Karnataka i.e those whose parents at the time of joining the Defence services had declared that their home town was in Karnataka will be eligible under this category. However, such candidates are required to produce proof of such domicile.
Candidates who are children of defence personnel who had served in Karnataka for at least one year and are presently on duty in Field/Active Service and the family is allowed by the Defence Authorities to stay in Karnataka. Candidates falling under this category must have studied and passed the qualifying exam from any recognised educational institute located in Karnataka.
The ward of serving or retired employee in Central Armed Police Force Service, whose parents at the time of joining the CAPF Service (Central Armed Police Force) had mentioned that his/her home town was in Karnataka, has to submit proof of his/her domicile from the Record Office of the CAPF Unit where the Parents service record is maintained. In this category, the candidates must have cleared the qualifying examination from a recognised University or Board or any other institution located anywhere in India.
