2017 NEET was way to easy, especially the Physics section. Hence, cut-offs were very high. Just to give you a perspective, at our coaching institute Edusquare (Dugri, Ludhiana), a students who scored 660 marks got AIR 167 in NEET 2017 .
By comparison, a student who scored 627 marks in NEET 2018 got AIR 95 . The Category you belong to .
General category cut-offs are much higher as compared to cut-offs for reserved categories.
The state you belong to . For govt colleges in each state, 85% seats are reserved for students belonging to the state and 15% are for All India Quota.
So in your home state, for 85% seats, you are competing with students belonging to your state alone.
There are a few states where competition is very high like Rajasthan, Delhi, Chandigarh etc.
