My nephew has scored 82.1 in Jan attempt. I have a few questions to clarify 1. What are the eligibility criteria for IITs/NITs? The information in the links is all over the place 2. What is JEE Advanced? What is the eligibility to appear for the Advanced exam?

Hey there hope you're doing well.
Dear aspirant, according to your percentile score in JEE MAIN examination your expected rank is about 1,55,552. The previous year cut off in general category however for qualifying JEE MAIN was 89 percentile but this may change this year due to slight changes in total no of students appearing in the exam. The eligibility for IITs/NITs is that a candidate after securing a AIR in JEE MAIN takes part in counselling by josaa to take admissions for BE/B.TECH courses at NITs, IIITs or GFTIs all over India. Once qualified in JEE MAIN he/she can take JEE ADVANCED as well for admissions into the respected IITs for same courses. Also the student must have passed their class 12th from a recognised institute with an aggregate score of 75% in all 5 subjects opted.
The JEE ADVANCED earlier known as IIT-JEE is conducted for admission to b.tech courses purely at 23 IITs all over the country . Top 2 to 2.4 lac students take this examination where only 11,000 lucky candidates get seats as per their merit in the exam.
For any further details please mention in the comment section.
Thank you hope this helps you!

Hi Sir/Ma'am,

Hope you’re having a great day.

I would like to inform you that for your first query, the eligibility criteria is a long list out of which 75% in Board Exams is mandatory and the age limit of the candidate should not be older than 21 years of age in 2020. The total list of eligibilty has been given below,

For your second query, you can have a look at the link mentioned below because until you don;t qualify for JEE Advanced through JEE Mains, you won't be able to get into IIT's.

Let me know if you have further clarifications by mentioning it in the comment section below.

Have a nice day and I wish that you have a bright future ahead.
