1. No of canditates applied
2. No of seats available
3. Previous year cutoff trends
4. Difficulty level of the exam.

1. Other state

You have a good percentile. But admission into any college is done on the basis of rank. There are top NITs where the cutoff rank for different streams are below 3k where as the low rated NITs had a rank cutoff below 50K for different branches.
As you mentioned in your question that you want to go for top 5 NIT, then it will be Trichy,Rourkella,Surathkal,waragal and calicut.
