Hi,

Hope you are doing well. The seat allotment of JOSAA is done after considering JEE Merit and choices filled by students. So in your case you have filled NIT Srinagar at 49 and IIIT Kota near 100th position. You can get IIIT Kota when you don't have enough rank to get colleges which are in above order than IIIT. Once filled , it is difficult to change preference list .

I hope this will answer your query.

Thanks!!!!

So what happened is, Today 27th october 2021, JEE MAINS seat allotment result was shown and i got nit srinagar.Considering if my rank is not enough to get any seat under any of the colleges above nit srinagar (at 49th position) and if i choose float and pay the seat allotment fee will the algorithm take me down to 103rd position?
