Hi,
With a JEE Mains rank of 180,500, it is unlikely to secure a seat in NITs, even for female candidates. The cutoffs for NITs typically range much lower. For example, NIT Silchar's cutoff for Mechanical Engineering for a general category female candidate (other state) is around 25,114, and for NIT Bhopal's Computer Science and Engineering, it is about 13,103 .
For more specific details on the cutoffs, you can check the respective NITs' official websites or the JoSAA counseling portal.
Best of luck.
Dear Aspirant,
Being from Assam, you have a home state quota advantage when applying to NIT Silchar. If you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL), you may have a better chance due to lower cut-offs for these categories. Based on the 2023 cutoff data, with a rank of 180,500, it is unlikely that you would secure a seat in NIT Silchar under the general open category. You may want to explore other options, such as the state quota or reserved categories, or consider looking into other NITs with different cutoffs.
Best of luck!
