The answer to your question is NO!

As you know VIT Exam is conducted for all the branches of VIT i.e. Bhopal, Vellore, Chennai, and Amravati. The branch allocation system is done through a counseling procedure, which is based on the general rank that you get in VITEEE Exam.

The normal procedure goes like that, for first counseling, candidates are called in the ascending order of their ranks, and the branches are allocated dot them respectively, based on their choices and preferences. Now there are rumors, that this seat allocation system is not uniform i.e. it is not seat by seat, instead, some percentage of seats are not included in regular counseling, and are used other phase counsellings. There is a category system here, through which with the worse rank you can get better seats or preferable branches, by paying extra fees. You may simply call it as the donation or management quota system. VIT does not force you to take admission by category system, its the wish of the candidate, although it is a complete business strategy.

Therefore, an assumption, or an example, suppose the last person to get CSE @ Vellore Campus of VIT, under normal phase 1 counseling has a rank of 5700. So the closing rank of CSE at the Vellore campus of Vit is 5700. But still, you will observe some people get CSE, at even 10000 ranks. This is because of the category system. The categories till the previous year were 5, which is an aspirant, can belong to either of the categories, probably they increased one this year. Therefore, students can get a highly preferred branch, in case their rank is not under the cut-off rank.

From previous data, it is expected that, till 25k rank, CSE at Vellore campus gets filled up. The next comes the turn of Information Technology or IT branch. That too extends almost till 30k for 5th categories. Therefore, you should not expect a BIT branch at the Vellore campus with this rank.

You may try for some other branch which is of less preference and then get admitted to VIT Vellore, further try for branch migration, in case you want IT only.

Another method, which I would never encourage people to do is to opt for direct admission. But this is illegal, and you are trying to steal the seats of the deserving candidates.

According to last year cutoff current year the cutoff for VIT vellore is expected to be 7500. With the rank you have got it is not possible to get into vellore campus . Even with this getting chennai campus is not possible.  . Better you can opt for any other option .
